Contenuto: Sebbene i fondatori Little Charlie Baty e l’arpista/cantante/compositore Rick Estrin accolgano due nuovi gatti al basso e alla batteria, poco altro è cambiato nell’ottavo lavoro in studio di Little Charlie & the Nightcats, di nuovo su Alligator, l’unica etichetta per cui hanno registrato. Mentre questo potrebbe essere un problema per alcuni gruppi, la musica qui è così perfettamente concepita, ben scritta ed eseguita con una bravura musicale strepitosa che solo il più brontolone purista del blues si lamenterà del fatto che non stanno aprendo molte nuove strade. Autore: Little Charlie & the Nightcats è stato un gruppo statunitense di blues elettrico e swing revival, attivo dal 1976 al 2008. Diversi membri si sono riformati come Rick Estrin & The Nightcats. [...]. Charles Baty (1953–2020) stava studiando matematica all’Università della California a Berkeley quando lui e Rick Estrin (nato nel 1949) formarono i Little Charlie & the Nightcats nel 1976. Il loro primo album, All the Way Crazy, fu pubblicato nel 1987. Include le canzoni Poor Tarzan, Suicide Blues e When Girls Do It. L’album successivo, Disturbing the Peace (1988), includeva That’s My Girl, My Money’s Green, She’s Talking e Nervous. Iniziarono a fare tournée negli Stati Uniti e a livello internazionale. Suonarono al San Francisco Blues Festival nel 1980 e nel 1982, al Montreal International Jazz Festival , al San Diego Street Scene, al Bumbershoot Festival di Seattle e al Juneau Jazz & Classics Festival nel 2002.
