The show revolves around the adventures of the Griffin family, consisting of father Peter Griffin, a bumbling and clumsy yet well-intentioned blue-collar worker; Lois, a pretty stay-at-home mother and piano teacher who is a member of the wealthy Pewterschmidt family; Meg, their often bullied teenage daughter who is also constantly ridiculed or ignored by the family; Chris, their awkward teenage son, who is overweight, unintelligent and, in many respects, is simply a younger version of his father; and Stewie, their diabolical infant son of ambiguous sexual orientation who is an adult-mannered evil genius and uses stereotypical archvillain phrases. Living with the family is their witty, smoking, martini-swilling, sarcastic, English-speaking anthropomorphic dog Brian, though he is still considered a pet in many ways.
Recurring characters appear alongside the Griffin family. These include the family’s neighbors: sex-crazed airline pilot bachelor Quagmire; deli owner Cleveland and his wife Loretta (later Donna); paraplegic police officer Joe, his wife Bonnie, their son Kevin and their baby daughter Susie; neurotic Jewish pharmacist Mort, his wife Muriel, and their geeky and annoying son Neil; and elderly child molester Herbert. TV news anchors Tom Tucker and Diane Simmons, Asian reporter Tricia Takanawa, and Blaccu-Weather meteorologist Ollie Williams also make frequent appearances. Actor James Woods guest stars as himself in multiple episodes, as did Adam West, prior to his death.

For Cockney sisters Sharon Theodopolopodous and Tracey Stubbs, life is never the same again when their husbands are convicted of armed robbery and sent to prison. Sharon, a common, fun-loving, large and loud-mouthed character from a council flat in Edmonton, moves into her sister’s luxury home in Chigwell, so that she can support Tracey, after her husband’s imprisonment.
Sharon always felt inadequate next to her slimmer, elder sister, and felt she had the tougher childhood. Her marriage to Chris, a waster of Greek Cypriot descent, was miserable and childless, supposedly due to Sharon’s infertility. Chris’ family condemn her for this, but Sharon discovers that Chris is actually the infertile one. Sharon happily cheats on Chris and gives him grief when visiting. Despite this, she becomes bitterly envious whenever he has another woman and only ever makes half-hearted attempts to divorce him until the first ITV series in 2014, in which Chris finally demands a divorce from Sharon so he can marry again. Tracey, however, loves her husband, Darryl. His legitimate business was building conservatories, but he made most of his money by robbing banks. Unlike Sharon, who is more realistic about their husbands, Tracey deludes herself into believing her husband is innocent, especially in the 1994 Christmas episode The Chigwell Connection and when Darryl is finally released in series seven, she trusts him when he asks for a cheque on the company account, which leads to Darryl defrauding her out of her business assets. He and Tracey have a son, Garth, who becomes a chef after going to boarding school and eventually marries Kimberley. This marriage does not last; in series 10, Garth has moved to Australia and started a relationship with a girl named Marcie. Tracey is the more honest and law-abiding of the two sisters, whereas Sharon is more willing to indulge in unscrupulous and often criminal activities, such as illegally subletting her council flat when she was living with Tracey, taking drugs, selling stolen merchandise, fiddling her VAT and claiming unemployment benefit while she was actually employed.

Fox Mulder è un singolare agente dell’FBI: lavora in un settore chiamato appunto X-Files, un archivio dove vengono catalogati e raccolti tutti i casi ritenuti inspiegabili e di supposta natura soprannaturale. La passione di Mulder per tale genere di casi deriva dall’ossessione sviluppata in seguito ad alcune sedute di ipnosi regressiva e al conseguente riaffiorare del ricordo del traumatico rapimento della sorella, avvenuto, a suo dire, da parte degli alieni quando lui aveva dodici anni, sotto i suoi occhi. Da quando è entrato nell’FBI si è occupato di cercare di dare spiegazioni e raggiungere la verità prestando fede a prove e testimonianze ritenute impossibili o prive di credito da parte dei suoi colleghi e della comunità accademica. All’inizio della serie gli viene affiancato un partner dai suoi superiori, Dana Scully, medico e scienziata che utilizzando le sue competenze scientifiche dovrebbe screditare le bizzarre tesi di Mulder. In realtà con il passare del tempo anche lei si troverà di fronte a fatti in grado di scuotere le sue certezze e la sua fede nella scienza ufficiale.

Nel corso di anni di indagini in cui hanno a che fare con svariati casi di creature mostruose, esperimenti segreti, virus letali e rapimenti alieni, raccolgono indizi che sveleranno l’esistenza di un complotto ordito da un’enigmatica organizzazione, il Consorzio, che mira a tenere nascosta l’esistenza di vita extraterrestre intelligente e a facilitare una futura occupazione da parte dei Colonizzatori.

Lisa e il suo orsacchiotto (Corduroy) è una serie TV animata per bambini americani, canadesi e cinesi basata sul libro per bambini “Corduroy” di Don Freeman del 1968 e sul suo seguito del 1978 A Pocket for Corduroy. Originariamente è andato in onda per una sola stagione su TVOKids in Canada e Bookworm Bunch per i bambini degli Stati Uniti nel 2000, prima di essere cancellato insieme a Elliot Moose. La Serie è composta da 26 episodi di 10 minuti, che sono state trasmesse in coppia in 13 episodi di 21 minuti. La storia è ambientata a New York City e segue l’orsacchiotto di velluto a coste (la cui personalità è simile a quella di un bambino in età prescolare) e la sua migliore amica Lisa, una studentessa americana di origini giamaicane. Gli altri due giocattoli (Buckaroo il cavallo a dondolo e Rosetta il topo giocattolo), le loro personalità (come l’Orsacchiotto) sono entrambi simili all’essere un bambino in età prescolare. Tutti gli episodi Lisa e il suo Orsacchiotto sono stati ufficialmente rilasciati su YouTube nell’aprile 2013 sul canale di Treehouse TV.

Una donna di nome Karen e suo figlio Moki chiedono il loro destino ad una strega su una spiaggia. Le viene detto che suo marito Harald non è morto e che arriverà prima dell’inverno, ma un grande pericolo incombe su di loro: li invita perciò a fuggire. Il perfido Hagen, infatti, convinto della morte del re Harald, è sulle loro tracce. Di lì a poco Hagen arriva dalla strega e le chiede dove si è nascosta Karen. La strega non glielo dice e anzi gli profetizza la sua morte e che chi lo ucciderà è già in cammino. A casa di Karen, sopraggiunge uno straniero, il quale chiede ospitalità ma lei rifiuta. Poco dopo arrivano gli uomini di Hagen e vogliono catturarla, ma lo straniero ritorna sui suoi passi e li uccide. Grazie a questo fatto rimane con loro, insegna a tirare con l’arco e con i coltelli a Moki. Ben presto lo straniero chiede a Karen perché viva lì tutta sola e lei gli spiega tutto, ma quando gli dice che è la moglie di Harald, lui si agita nervosamente...
